From now on every DRUGREVENUE.com affiliate can make up his own products set. There is a new icon for each product in the admin panel, that enables affiliates to hide products on stores. Products will be inaccessible neither through search nor categories. These function will be judged on its merits by affiliates working with targeted pharmacy traffic.

Learn how to use campaign tracking

Many of you probably work with several pharmacy traffic sources and wish to track how much do you earn from each of them. The effectiveness of your traffic sources can be tracked using Campaigns (located at the Stats section). For example, let’s create a campaign tracking that will be useful to any PPC marketing analyst. To create a new campaign, simply click the “Add a new campaign” link and fill in the fields:

Store: select a store that you are working on.
Campaign name: enter your campaign’s name, exactly as you want it to appear in the stats.
Landing url: this allows you to land your visitor on a specific page (relative or absolute URL); leave it blank if you don’t need it.

Let’s imagine that we would buy the Viagra-targeted traffic from PPC1, that’s why we named our campaign as “ppc1″ and entered “/product/viagra.html” as a landing url. Click the Submit button when finished. You can start routing traffic to the newly created campaign link, which looks like:
http://yourstore.com/?c=ppc1

But that’s not all! While buying traffic from PPC you usually buy it for several keywords, e.g.:

  • buy viagra
  • order viagra
  • viagra online

Of course, you need to know which keyword converts better, and which does not earn you a penny. However, there can be a lot of them that makes creating a campaign for each keyword a real nightmare! Don’t panic, there is a solution: Campaign Keywords. Unlike to the campaigns, you don’t need to register anything in the back office. Simply add a ck parameter to the campaign link:

http://yourstore.com/?c=ppc1&ck=keyword1
http://yourstore.com/?c=ppc1&ck=keyword2

Most PPC providers have a special macros that pass a keyword into your campaign link. In that case, the campaign link should look like:

http://yourstore.com/?c=ppc1&ck=###KEYWORD###

The campaign keyword will be created automatically when the first visitor hits the link*, and your statistics will be stored according to the campaign and the campaign keyword indicated**.

** We don’t store the campaign data in cookies. When the visitor who bookmarked your website visits that page without having the c and ck params set, that visitor will be assigned to a default campaign.

So you own an online pharmacy, and you wish to earn money with it, but you do not have any targeted traffic. One of the most profitable and perspective ways is promoting a drugstore in search engines by SEO.

First of all you need to think of a domain for your online pharmacy since a catchy domain name will allow your customers to easily remember your website address and reorder from you over and over again, and to recommend your drugstore to others. The name should be relevant to the website content (for example: antibiotics, ED products, etc.), should be as short as possible, however, it is advisable that the name contains at least one keyword; in future this will affect the position of your website in SERP.

When you have a domain name, you will need to install your online pharmacy store. After installation is completed, you need to do a search engine optimization. How this could be done?

1. Optimize meta tags of all the website pages;

2. Make the content of your online pharmacy store unique (distinct from others). The aim is to avoid repetition of the content within your website and in relation to other similar websites;

3. Set up some incoming links from other sites. This will make a quicker indexation of your site by search engine bots.

Let’s take it a step at a time. Title optimization is an editing of the text between the tags <title></title>. The title is important, however, it won’t be enough on its own for a complete search engine optimization. It is recommended for the title to look something like this: “Buy generic viagra”, “Buy viagra at discount sale prices”. A website with such titles will be on the SERP for several keywords: viagra, buy viagra, generic viagra, discount viagra. At our online pharmacy store we have a macro to generate titles like this. ###PRODUCT_TITLE ###, replaced with the name of a product. For example, using: ###PRODUCT_TITLE ###, buy ### PRODUCT_TITLE ###, generic ### PRODUCT_TITLE ###, discount ### PRODUCT_TITLE ### you will receive the product page with the needed title to get started :)

The text of the description placed in the tag <description> is optional for search engines, but for you, it is important as the search engines use it to form snippets for your website in SERP. It should describe how convenient, easy and moneywise it is for a customer to use your online pharmacy, it should be relevant to the content of your website and expected inquiries :) Also it is recommended to use the macro ### PRODUCT_TITLE ### in the description.

By all accounts, the keyword phrases stored in the tag <keywords>, do not any longer influence the position of your website in SERP, however, to make a complete optimization we advise you to specify the main keywords for which you wish to see your online pharmacy in SERP. We strongly advise to use the macro ###PRODUCT_TITLE ### as described above.

The next thing that should be done is to write unique descriptions of the general products of your online pharmacy store. If you know English well you can rewrite the content yourself. If your English is not sufficient enough, you can ask for a professional copywriter to do this for you. This will also save you time. In any case, time, effort and the money spent on this work will be paid back in the near future and will start bringing you profit. If you are not too good at translating texts and are unable to ask a professional to do this for you, then you can add new relevant texts to the descriptions of products, but unique even within your website. Regularly modify the text while editing.

Also SEO is possible by a change of a HTML code of website templates, structure of the website, etc. Our stock templates are already SEO optimized, but if you wish, you can make them unique – this will minimize complaints against your website from search engines, or there won’t be any at all.

When your online pharmacy is unique, then there’s just one last step left on your way to targeted traffic – you need the search engines to know about the new website, to index your website and give it a push for growth in SERP. You need to set up some incoming links from other sites.

Backlink ranking is one of the major elements of SEO, affecting on the position in SERP. Use any SEO trusted websites where it is possible to place a link to your online pharmacy :) some of them such as forums, blogs, boards, etc. I recommend to use websites that have at least min PageRank (1+), and at the same time are not a linkfarm. Do not buy links at the websites publicly selling them, in 80% of the case the search engines will find out about this and get your website banned from their listings. Use different text links from different websites. When using the same link anchor you may get banned. Place links not only to the homepage of your online pharmacy, but also to product pages, category pages, etc. Do not use autosubmit – your store will be removed from SERP because of SPAM.

After indexation of your new website, search engines will start showing your online pharmacy in SERP. The more backlinks to your website and the higher quality of these links is, the higher your position will be in SERP and the more traffic you will get. Try, experiment, and have a good luck!
