It’s time to publish the preliminary results of $3,000 referral competition. This will be a great Xmas news for competitors here. We decided to post only the total referral count just to add some intrigue to the competition. However, everybody can get the detailed stats and information by contacting us. New product images have been shot

Nowadays, everything from books to cars can be purchased through the Internet, but many consumers are still in doubt when it comes to ordering meds online - they can’t check what they can’t see. That’s why we decided to make some high-res pictures of our top-selling pharmacy products. Unlike other online pharmacies that copy product images from each other, all the pictures have been shot of real medications that your customer will receive. This update has 3 major improvements including:

New Bestsellers and Similar products thumbnails;
Images on the product page became twice bigger in size;
Image gallery popup for some of our bestsellers, where the consumers can view the high-res pictures of product packs, blisters, and even the packaging!

We will constantly increase the number of high-res pictures in our online pharmacy store templates until we will cover the whole product catalog. This update is highly recommended to all affiliates, as it can help you boost up your sales volume!

Custom stats tracking is now supported

Stats tracking in an online business can never be detailed enough, especially for PPC marketing. We have received a lot of requests from our affiliates asking for an ability to instantly add custom stats tracking (e.g. Google Analytics) that will not be overridden by future store updates. Some of you probably have noticed a file named “custom.tpl” in the last update. That’s it! The only action that is required on your part is to edit this file and put your tracking code. You can put it in 3 different parts of the page:

right after the tag;
right after the tag;
before the tag.

That’s enough for any stats tracking script. Please note that most of the stats tracking scripts are Javascript-based and they should be used between the {literal} marks, otherwise it will cause a parse error in the php script.

New values in stats

The winter has just begun and we would like to celebrate it with a small but very useful update: we have added CPV and RPT values in our stats.

CPV (Commission per visitor) is one of the most important values in online pharmacy business: it stands for the revenue you get from each unique visitor;

RPT (Revenue per thousand visitors) displays you the income you receive for thousand of unique visitors.

This update is the first step towards making our stats more flexible and standardized, as these values are de facto the industry leading pharmacy programs standards.

Pharmacy domains registering tips

Last couple of months we have been reading forum topics and blog posts about the problems/issues with pharmacy domains. Several domains of our affiliates were also suspended by domain registrars. It’s not hard to imagine how does it feel for an affiliate when a domain that is making you money gets suspended. To avoid this, please follow the following rules:

Avoid registrars who block domains for any reason or no reason (it’s easy to find the list of such registrars on any webmaster forum);
Never use “drug” or “pharma” keywords if you are not sure how reliable it is. The use of trademarks of well-known brands like Viagra, Cialis or Levitra is the first reason to suspend your domain, as these names are the subject of Trademark disputes;
Feel free to use “health”, “care”, “med”, “pill”, “tab” and similar keywords.

Domain registrars who ever suspended any pharmacy domains will be posted here. Please don’t hesitate to post your comments about a negative experience you had with any registrars - it will be very useful for all of our readers.

New default prices have been set

Last couple of weeks we were analyzing our prices for the top-selling products (Viagra, Cialis and Levitra). We made a lot of tests with different prices and finally, we figured it out! We implemented it as the default RRP (Recommended Retail Price) for all new online pharmacy stores. The new prices maximize CPV (Cost Per Visit) much better, than ever before. You can check them out at any of our public pharmacy stores, e.g. Thebigmeds.com.

You might be complaining that the new prices are a little bit higher, especially for small packs, but our tests have shown that your conversion ratio stays almost the same while the profit you get from each sale increased 10-30%. As we give opportunity to run a flexible pricing policy, only the default prices have changed, and you are free to set your own prices as long as they are higher than the minimum value that is allowed.

We love to surprise you with extras: we are calculating several ready-made pricing sets, which will be available to anyone who needs it (we will post a special announcement here upon release). Should you update your pharmacy store to the new prices, please login to the back office and click the Reset button in Stores: Prices menu.

$3,000 competition from DRUGREVENUE.com

This post is to announce a competition from DRUGREVENUE.com with a prize fund of $3,000 open.

The idea of the contest is very simple: “Spread the news about DRUGREVENUE.com and get money!” The person, who copes with the challenge best, will be determined by the number of referrals for the period from November 18, 2008 to February 1, 2009. Keep in mind that only active referrals* will be counted.

All that you need to participate in the competition is:

Register with our Affiliate program;
Make an announcement on your blog about this competition;
In the comments bellow, provide a link to your post about DRUGREVENUE, and your referral link from which you will gain your referrals (you will receive this link after you register with our affiliate program).

Results will be summed up on the 1st of February, 2009.

There will be 6 winners:

Personally, I instantly came up with a couple of strategies of how to participate in this competition; I’ll share some of my thoughts about the competition.

It seems to me that in order to gain the necessary number of referrals, it would be enough to simply share your observations and experience with our affiliate program on your blog. You have a blog of your own - every blog has its own audience, which values and shares the views and actions of the author. Of course, you can also use various services of social networking, ratings and communities for posting your advertisements to attract interest to your post. You can use multiple platforms to promote your link. You can also stick posters on buildings with your link, place a puller across the roads of your town, and of course an advert on the radio and TV will have a great effect!
